FAQs
Why do we have to pay a deposit?
We ask for a deposit to confirm your commitment as a volunteer and ensure we can rely on you to attend the festival as planned. This is standard practice for volunteering at large events like Leeds Festival, as it helps us manage logistics effectively and avoid no-shows, which can impact the support we provide to festival-goers.
Rest assured, your deposit will be fully refunded once you complete your volunteer shifts and meet the agreed requirements. If you’re unable to attend for genuine reasons, we’ll work with you to resolve the situation.
What do you have to do?
The tasks on the AIRHub can vary depending on the time of day and the shifts you’re working. During the day, you’ll typically assist festival-goers with directions, help them locate lost items, and provide general support. In the evenings, you might help reunite people with friends and offer assistance to those in need. The majority of the day shifts are sitting down.
Night shifts can be a bit more challenging, as some festival-goers may be intoxicated. If you’re considering a night shift, I’d be happy to discuss the details with you beforehand to ensure you feel comfortable and prepared.
How much do I have to work!
We expect volunteers to work 3 x 8 hour shifts between Wednesday 12pm and Monday 12pm, including a 30 minute break. The timings of these shifts will be 4am-12pm, 12pm-8pm and 8pm-4am. Volunteers who are able to are expected to work at least 1 overnight shift.
Is this work accessible?
We try our best to make volunteering with us as accessible as possible, however this relies on the organisers of the festival (Festival Republic). More information regarding accessibility will be released in due course.
What would a shift lead be required to do?
The shift lead will need to ensure that everyone has turned up for that shift, and be the main contact for the festival organisers at that time. They will also be in charge of scheduling breaks. Also, they will need to ensure a smooth handover at the end of their shift, making sure that there is at least 3 people on that stand at a time.
